Hello all!
Welcome back to the blog space. I hope you all are staying safe & healthy. Right now life can be so wild, and scary, I hope you all are finding a way to stay sane during this time :) Today I have a post that is very dear to my heart lately and that is, sustainability. I have to say before we go into this that I am 100% not perfect, and so much of this is all new to me as well. So be easy on yourself as you are reading this, and know I am learning right along with you! Here are some tips to help you get started like me: Tip One: Coffee: Rainforest Alliance or Certified Organic -When you are looking into buying your next bag of coffee look for these two certifications. As of recently I have discovered that coffee is horribly unsustainable and it is actually super scary. The production of coffee is leading to deforestation, changing the rainforest ecosystem which is negativity effecting the plants and animals. Truly breaks my heart, and not to mention many production plants are treating their own farmers very unethically. Not only is this an environmental issue but also a human rights issue. Below I will link some other items you can read on each of these topics. Tip Two: Chocolate: Buy Dark Chocolate -Yep chocolate is about the same as coffee. Pretty much under the exact same issues chocolate has had a huge reputation for treating the farmers unfairly. The average cocoa farmer is getting paid well under the poverty line. -However if you purchase more dark chocolate this means more cocoa, which means more money to the cocoa farmers. Also look for a fair trade on the label, which this standard means banning child labor work, and forced labor. Tip Three: Local: Buy Local -Of course this one is a no brainer. When buying local you are giving money directly to your own community. Buying local as much as you can is huge, especially in the produce world. Try and find a farmers market near you or a co-op :) Those are a few of my tips and what I have learned so far. Again still 100% learning, but just a small change can make a huge difference. Linked below is more info, stated much better then I did above haha! Let me know any info you have I would love to learn more. XOXO, Chandel Patricia :) Coffee Chocolate

Hello all!
Welcome back to the blog space. Today I want to talk about reconnecting, bringing ourselves back to well...ourselves. Here are some ways I recenter and reconnect. 1. Bring it back to your breath! -Anytime you feel yourself slipping away, or in difficult situations, allow yourself to breathe. Focus on your breath, and remind yourself, you are here, you are present, and you are connected. The breath is one of the best tools you have, remember to use it :) 2. Remember you're worth. -When in situations that make me feel disconnected with myself a lot of the time it is because I am forgetting my worth. You are powerful, you are strong, and you are worthy! Reconnect with that. 3. Stay still. -Reconnecting might just mean you need to just be :) Be still, be present, and allow yourself to focus on yourself for a day. By becoming still, this allows you to open yourself up, and dig deep into your own emotions. Now go along and find your beautiful self! XOXO, Chandel Patricia :) Hello all! I hope you all are having such a great morning. Happy 4th of July as well, I hope you all stay safe, and allow yourself to let loose just a little among these very stressful times. Speaking of stressful times, today I have a guided meditation for you all :) Below I have linked a meditation for love and kindness. A quick 15 mins just for you, before you take on the rest of your day. Enjoy! Stay safe & healthy all.
With Love, Chandel :) Hello all!
Another day, another mudra post. Let's hop right in. Definition is below if anyone is wondering what the heck a mudra is. mu·dra /məˈdrä,ˈmo͞odrə/ noun
Ganesha Mudra: How to: Left hand towards your chest, and palm facing away from you. Grasp your left hand with the right, then bring both your hands to your heard center. When I Use: If I am feeling stressed or overwhelmed. Or if I am in need of a confidence boost. And this mudra is great to help build courage, and bring positivity to you. You Try: Allow yourself to come to a comfortable seated position. Hands coming into Ganesha Mudra, shoulders away from your ears, allowing your spine to be long, and gaze to be closed. Focusing on your breath: Inhale, and when you exhale chanting Ganesha (gam) with each exhale. Inhale, Exhale (gam), Inhale, Exhale (gam). Feeling Ganesha all around you, the Hindu God of beginnings, who this mudra is named after. Ganesha the Hindu deity who removes obstacles. Feeling the presents all around you, giving you the good energy you need for the rest of your day. Slowly bringing your hands high to the sky, and exhale release. Allowing yourself to slowly open your eyes and come back to the present moment. Such a beautiful mudra :) I hope you all give it a try, and I will continue to give you my favorite mudras. XOXO, Chandel Patricia Hello all!
Welcome back to the blog space. I hope you all are having a great start to the week. I know mine started with the birds chirping and the sun shining, so I am a happy camper :) Todays post is all about keeping up those positive vibes. Here are some of the things I do to keep a smile on my face. -Wake Up Without the Screen: Of course this means no phone for a few minutes at least! I think waking up and having the first thing you see be the sun when you open your blinds, is 10/10 a much better way then seeing all the emails you need to respond too. Give it a try for awhile and I am sure you will agree. -Try and Find the Good: There is truly good in everyday :) Try and find that. Not only the good in everyday, but even better, the good in every situation. Trying to look at things in a perspective of positivity rather than negativity will help your mood considerable everyday. -Allow Vitamin D: Now that it is summer this should be an easy one! Taking at minimum of 10 mins a day to spend sometime in the sun. Maybe take your lunch outside, or go for a quick walk. The sun shining will never hurt your mood. Not to brag but most say I am a very positive person ;) And these three tips are some that I practice everyday. Give them a shot, and I hope you all can spread the positivity. XOXO, Chandel Patricia :) Hello all! Welcome back to the blog. Todays post is going to be very informative, and I will be sharing with you all some ideas you can do to help with this beautiful movement that is sweeping across the globe. These are some posts I found last week that have been a huge help to me, and I would love to spread the word :) I am not 100% sure who was the originally poster of this, so if you know please inform me and I will add in their name.
It is now time to educate ourselves. Some things I have done personally that I will continue to do and will keep striving to educate myself more: Read many articles on Breonna Taylor, then after educating myself signed the petition. Look and research many organizations to donate too, (100% of CeeJays virtual retreat are going to the organization until June 11th). Watch movies that can help you understand exactly what this movement stands for. Over the weekend we watched a movie called Out of Omaha. Very eye opening if you are in the Omaha area. Have watched the first IGTV with Katrina (from Tone It Up), and Lauren talk about what living as a black women is like. And plan on watching the other two today. And I will continue everyday to read, listen, and educate myself. I am not telling you all that I have done to have praise, or anything like that. But so we can all do this together. We can be better together. I am here, I am listening, and I will every single day. I hope you all will join me. Let me know if you all have any other information, or items I can add, and this will be a growing thread of information for everyone, XOXO, Chandel Patricia :) Hello all!
Welcome back to the blog space. I hope you all are having a great start to your weekend. What are you all up too?! Leave a comment below, I am curious what you have been doing during this wild time. BUT let us get into todays post. I recently got Reiki Certified over this quarantine, and thought it would be fun to talk about some of the discoveries I had during that process :) In Reiki I we talked a lot about how to enhance your energy as a practitioner, but I think it is something we all could benefit from. Here are 5 things you can do to help enhance your energy: 1. Ingest food and drink that provide you nutrients. 2. Create habits to clear your state of mind. 3. Spend time outdoors and focus on your breath. 4. Meditate 5.Create positive mental patterns. I feel like during these crazy times, enhancing our energy can never hurt! Ultimately just taking care of ourselves, showing ourselves love in all the ways. Giving our body all the nutrients it needs, our mind all the good vibes, both of these can do wonders and really help our mental state during all of this. Give these a try and remember you deserve all the good energy, and before we know it this will be over and we can go out and play with our friends again :) Stay strong. XOXO, Chandel Patricia Hello all!
Welcome back. Today we have another mudra post. Definition is below if anyone is wondering what the heck a mudra is. mu·dra /məˈdrä,ˈmo͞odrə/ noun
Apana Mudra: How To: Allow the tip of your thumb to connect to the tip of both your middle and ring finger. Both pinky and pointer are straight in the opposite direction :) When I use: When I feel I need a fresh start, and release any negative energy. This mudra helps to detoxify the body and balance from within. Mantras to Use: I allow myself to release what no longer serves me. I bring balance to my life. I deserve a fresh start to this day. Make sure you check out some of my other mudra posts below! Give Apana a try and stay safe and healthy all. XOXO, Chandel Patricia :) Vayu Mudra Lotus Mudra Hello all!
Welcome back to the blog. Today is a sunny day, and the birds are chirping. A beautiful day to be alive. I hope you all are staying safe and healthy :) The post today is all about some tips on staying productive. HOWEVER a big disclaimer: It is ok, to do nothing. It is ok to have days, weeks, where you Netflix and chill & just be. Especially during this time we can feel like we should, or have to be a certain way, but know that this isn't true. Know it is alright to feel unmotivated, and to take your time. But for anyone who is wanting to start a project, or whatever it might be here are some tips for you! Tip One: Start a Routine -A huge part of what has helped me during this time, or honestly just in general, is to find a routine. Days can be much different then normal, but find your normal within that. For me I still try and keep my routine as normal as possible. This just helps me still continue to get my shit done, and not just watch TikTok all day haha :) Tip Two: Challenge Yourself -If not now then when? I had to ask that to myself when I was debating getting my Reiki certification. Now is the time to take that course, to get that certification, to do that program you have always wanted to do. Use this time to challenge yourself, cause why not?! Tip Three: Be Easy On Yourself -My final tip is to remember to be easy on yourself. For me productivity doesn't work when I am constantly feeling like I got nothing done. Take the little wins, know its ok if you didn't get everything done on your 'to do' list. If I constantly beat myself up, then that's when I find myself going backward. So give yourself a break, and take all the little victories :) And that is it for todays blog. I hope you found these helpful & that you continue to be safe and healthy. XOXO, Chandel Patricia :) Hello everyone!
Welcome back to the blog space. Today we are going to dive right in and talk books. Here are some of my favorite books that I have read over this past year :) The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins -Ok, I am so late on this bandwagon, but dang. These books are truly fantastic. These are the perfect books for anyone who was into the Divergent Series, or loves the dystopian type books! If you are someone who just wants to use this quarantine to escape and get away from reality then this is for you. There is three books AND three movies. So after every book you can watch the movie, which makes it even more fun. Oh and not to mention the movies are the best I have ever seen go from pages to the screen :) SO GOOD. Living Your Yoga by Judith Hanson Lasater -I have talked about this book so much. But it really is just that good. If you are looking for a good 'self help' type book, AND love yoga this one is great! It isn't fully a self help book, its just more of a good discovery book. So very good, and is a quick read. Take your yoga practice from the mat to the outside world :) Snow is Falling by Jane Gloriana Villanueva -Have you seen the show Jane the Virgin yet?! If not you MUST, it is so amazing. But in that show Jane, the main character, writes a book. And yes this is that book. It is a great book for you hopeless romantics. I do think if you haven't seen the show, it might not hit the same :( But if you have pick it up because you already know you are in for a wild ride. Super great romantic novel, highly recommend. And that is all! Let me know what you have all been reading in the comments below. Stay safe and healthy :) XOXO, Chandel Patricia |
